As the sister and brother-in-law of our great friends, when these buyers’ 3 kids all moved out after high school they were looking to make a change. He got a new position in Seattle at Swedish Hospital and that meant it was time to sell the custom Monroe house they raised the family in and move into the city life and we were the lucky agents to get their call.
Having to be in close proximity to the hospital was a key criteria. We focused our search around Capitol Hill, Madrona, Madison Park and Washington Park. After a few months of searching, nothing was popping for these buyers. We had a couple of competitive offer situations where we barely lost out. We knew it was time to get creative. So we drove through all of the target neighborhoods that met their criteria and looked for under construction homes that we could approach the builders off of the market. We hit the jackpot with two new homes in Madrona by the park. With no sign out front, we knew just who to ask, our colleagues who specialize in new construction. And it was their builder, so we were in luck. We decided to craft an offer and present it before the house was completed and before it had a chance to be listed and garner multiple offers. They weren’t sure they would be able to get the builder to take the offer knowing that the market was so hot and fast paced but we made it happen. And now our clients are in a brand new home that is just right for them!
