In anticipation of our upcoming trip to Italy (yay!), Marco and I decided we wanted to do a little planning over a glass of wine. We also wanted to be able to walk to the bar so we ended up at La Caviste Downtown. Though it only serves French wines, which wasn’t an ode to our Italy trip, it was delicious.
We walked in and immediately felt comfortable since it is a small intimate restaurant. The menu, for both wine and food, were written on chalkboards on the wall. Only French wines were served and all of the varietals we tried were fabulous. The bartender was helpful when we asked about the wines, which was great since we are not French wine connoisseurs. We told him what we like in terms of flavors and he pointed us in the right direction. We didn’t try much food but the charcuterie plate was large and fabulous. Really very delicious. We are looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu!
