Looking to invest in real estate, this buyer from Guam figured Seattle was a great spot for the purchase since her son was attending college here. As a reader of our condo blog, she realized we would be a great match to help her find an in-city condo that her son could live in now but that she could eventually rent out and would serve as a good long-term investment.
After determining her needs and those of her son, who would be living in the condo while he attended college, we set up our first condo tour. We set out to show any and all Belltown condos under $300,000 in buildings that didn’t have rental caps or limiting rental restrictions. Looking for a space that had unique features in a popular location desirable to renters, we landed in the Austin Bell building with its beautiful 1909 façade and prime 1st Avenue location. The inside had just that unique something we were looking for, it was a 2-story loft space with soaring ceilings. Once we videoed the unit form mom so she could visually see the space and both she and her son were on board, we submitted out offer and it was accepted. Having discovered a tax lien on Title, we were able to ensure that was removed prior to closing as well as negotiate several repairs as a result of the inspection. Then we smoothly buttoned up this out of town purchase in 2 weeks.
Enjoy living at Austin Bell Matthew and thank you for your business Cathy!
