With my parents in town visiting, we wanted to take them to a restaurant none of us had tried yet and experience a new place together. We considered many of the new spots to hit town recently but settled on Westward in Wallingford because what is better than a water view while you dine?!
The firepit was burning on the waterfront patio and the restaurant was packed. We could only get seats at the oyster bar so we bellied up. We had to try oysters, of course, since it is an oyster bar 🙂 We tasted through all of their varieties and they were all scrumptious. The man holding down the oyster bar was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about oysters so he gave us a ton of great info on what we were trying and what made them different from each other. Then we shared the Grilled Halloumi Cheese, Wood Baked Gigante Beans, and the Braised Oregon Lamb Shoulder. Simply divine. We cannot wait to go back there where the food is amazing, the service second to none and the atmosphere perfect!
