With the new year upon us, it is time to get excited about the just opened or coming soon restaurants as we run into the 2018 food scene full speed!
- Pho Bac Sup Shop: in Little Saigon, the sister restaurant of Pho Bac, has opened softly and will feature delicious Pho along with craft cocktails in a place that’s as fun as it is tasty
- Renee Erickson’s Amazon Sphere Projects: an Italian restaurant influenced by Renee’s time living in Rome and a bar reminiscent of old-time high-end hotel bars in NYC are set to open to the public in the spring or early summer this year
- Shake Shack: projected to open in mid-2018 in SLU, this burger joint will be the first Seattle location for the chain that already operates 136 locations around the world
- Le Messe: opening in late January in Eastlake, this spot by the same restaurateur that owns Vendemmia will feature the same “pasta, seafood, vegetable” set up as Vendemmia
- Little Fish: the newest addition to the Pike Place Market MarketFront expansion this market, restaurant and bar focusing on seafood preserving techniques hopes to open their doors sometime in the spring
- Cortina: the old Sullivan’s location in Downtown will soon be Ethan and Angela Stowell’s newest Italian restaurant opening this spring
- Homer: landing in Beacon Hill, this restaurant will be a casual family friendly place with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors and is set to open this summer
- Dingfelder’s Delicatessen: this New York style Jewish Deli is coming to Capitol Hill this spring/summer
- Rocket Taco: the former Kingfish Cafe spot on Capitol Hill, which has had several iterations since Kingfish closed, will now be Rocket Taco of Whidbey Island fame
- Babirusa (reopening!): Blind Pig Bistro and Babirusa closed on Eastlake but are reopening as Babirusa in the former Kushibar location in Belltown at the end of March
- El Grito Taqueria: self-described as a “jovial Mexican spot dishing up comforting classics in a vibrant setting complete with lively bar” opened in South Lake Union in December
